The légend : …Feeling pursued by the dogs, the old deer runs toward his like to blend his smell among others.
Foaming, he rubs with the ones of his sort which spin round and already begin to go away. Everything is handing at this moment because only one will be pursued. Led by the chief, the big dogs hounds arrive. He has the heavy mission to distinguish the animal’s smell to go after between all others. Nose at the ground, balancing tail, the excited dog sniffs, decoding every scent arriving to his canine neuron. He loses the thread, comes back and find the trail again. The others keep a close eye on hin, ready to hunt furiously at any moment. Now, the trail is the right one, the barking hounds is hunting again.
But the whipper-in is doubtful. His leader doesn’t seem so sur of his choice. Some miles further, the dogs turn and come back to the oak. Far away, the old deer can hear the dogs confusion and understands his olfactory hiding strategy is going to save his life.
