As an aside, a great 2012 year. Planting of seven small vine rows near the “chai”.
But let’s come back to the huts.
The buildings are now fully operational and most of my time is devoted to the management of the whole. Customer arrivals and departures carry on and we adapt ourselves to every request. Some led us to the unusual accommodation wish of some customers to fall asleep in the forest.
That’s why I contacted a specialized network used to tree house construction. Administrative procedures must be followed so I asked for a forestry expert to select a tree. The first hut was built in January 2012. No scaffolding or construction equipment, only my tractor is allowed to convey materials. Craftsmen work with pruning harness, ropes, carabiners, descenders…and so on.
This first construction lasted only 3 weeks. Acacia branches are picked up here and there to make door handles, bed railing and small window panes. A 12 m oak mat is set next to the tree to encircle the steps of the spiral staircase.
Decorations inside, cleaning around in the forest and on the pathway… and here we are, ready to take a photograph for SEO.
Our first “cabiners” arrive in May 2012. 2 other cabins will appear in 2013. These ones are built according to my own plans by the local carpenter.
